Erin Yang Joins Team Canada for 2026 ITF Masters

May 2026

We are thrilled to share that West Vancouver Tennis Club’s very own Erin Yang has been selected to join Team Canada at the 2026 ITF Masters World Championships in Portugal. The event will take place between August 2 and 7, with matches played daily between Lisbon and Oeiras.

Erin, a valued member of the West Vancouver Tennis Club, has had a tremendous journey to get to where she is in her career. In late February she received a formal invitation from Tennis Canada to represent her country on the world stage. She is one of four women in the 40-45 age category, affectionately known as the “Young Young Cup,” selected to take part in the World Championships. Along with Erin, there will be players from Ontario, White Rock, and Hollyburn.

Erin’s journey began 14 years ago, at age 28, when she signed up for her first match in the National Bank Stanley Park Open. She later went on to join The Capilano Tennis Club, playing on their Division 3 league team. When she joined the West Vancouver Tennis Club several years later, she worked her way up from Division 3 and now plays Division 1.  She has also competed in the Masters events and her national ranking is currently No. 2.

This is a huge milestone and a testament to her perseverance and dedication to the sport. Her commitment to growth and improvement is tremendous. Big congratulations to Erin, the Club will be cheering you on!
