Bubble Up

September 2-5, 2025

Our bubble is scheduled to go up on Thursday, September 4, 2025, weather permitting.  To prepare the courts for this year’s winter season, they will be closed a few extra days for maintenance.  The courts will be pressure washed on the two days prior to the bubble going up. On the day after bubble up, the courts will remain closed to do thorough cleaning of the bubble walls and court preparations.

The courts will be unavailable for play from September 2-5.  This process is weather dependent and will be rescheduled in the event there is rain in the forecast.  We will provide updates on this page should re-scheduling be necessary.

Please note that there are many factors that determine the bubble schedule.  Most pertinent, is the fact that there is only one company that offers this service, and it is quite a specialized procedure. This company takes down all the bubbles in the lower mainland and Seattle/Portland.  You can imagine, that everyone wants their bubbles up and down at the same time.  To make things more difficult, this process can only be done on a completely dry day. Several years ago, the scheduling was changed to accommodate clubs that have no alternative indoor facilities. We feel it is a great benefit to be among the first to go up, as there were several years in the past that we did not get the bubble up until the end of October.  Once the rain comes, all the scheduled bubbles get pushed back one by one, and you have to stay in order.

We believe it is better to have the bubble up before the heavy rains come, as this way our members continue to have an opportunity to play tennis, either at the club, or on public courts if it gets too hot in the bubble.
